Vice’s Mark Duffy start off his piece by quoting¬†Tom McElligott for the Fallon McElligott Rice ad agency:

I would much rather overestimate than underestimate the intelligence of the consumer.

Duffy then draws a comparison between McElligott and the attitude of social media managers:

They seem to believe their customers have the brain power of a baked potato.
