TypePad to WordPress Migration

Migrate from TypePad or MovableType to WordPress

Our TypePad to WordPress migration services will help you take control of your blogging destiny by ditching TypePad for WordPress, the most widely-used and flexible website platform in the world.

Basic Conversion – $449
This includes all posts, pages, comments, images, and other media moved from TypePad into your WordPress site while maintaining your existing permalink structure. After moving the data, we run a full audit to ensure that all data was moved successfully, including a full broken-links report. From there, you can enjoy WordPress without having to worry about data integrity or a loss in Google PageRank. This flat rate is offered for all sites with under 3,000 posts.

Pro Conversion – $899
For the truly prolific blogger–those with 3,000 or more posts–we offer the best conversion experience available. Moving TypePad or MovableType data to WordPress is an ugly process with a few hundred posts, for sites with thousands of posts, it’s next to impossible. That’s because TypePad and MovableType just don’t offer good export options–just a cumbersome plain-text file. Our data conversion process turns that .txt file into MySQL data we can then merge with any WordPress installation.

We’ve moved blogs with over 10,000 entries and 150,000 comments using this method, such as the popular economics blog Marginal Revolution.

Pro Conversion includes the same broken-links report and data audit offered with our Basic Conversion service.

Sidebars, Menus, and Widgets – $150
For an additional $150, we’ll move your blogroll, advertisements, Amazon.com links, or any other sidebar items into WordPress and create widgets where possible. Your menu structure will also be moved, placing static pages right back where you left them.

Happy Customers

We get great reviews:

Pretty Much Seamless
“Under Cord’s steady hand, the migration was pretty much seamless and he helped us understand a lot about how to optimize the site for search engines as well as several other nuances. If any blog authors have similar needs, we highly recommend Cord.  Let him know The Monkey Cage sent you.”
John Sides, George Washington University

Great Job
